For over 17 years, Chef Farshid Hakim has created a diverse menu that offers his specialties made with the finest artisanal ingredients: fresh soups, mediterranean salads and panini sandwiches on homemade baguette. The turkey chili is spiced for distinctive flavor. Omelettes are filled with original pairing of fresh produce. La Provence has expanded over the years to serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. With every meal, there is a chance to indulge in exquisite pastries including homemade chocolate croissants, french macarons, cupcakes, white chocolate strawberry shortcake and various other speciality cakes. La Provence has catered to hundreds of weddings, corporate events and each year is chosen to provide its signature pastries for various academy award parties.

Farshid Hakim, the founder of this elegant dining in a casual atmosphere is renowned as a pastry chef. He began his career in France. He lived and worked in Monaco where he gained expertise in the art of pastry. He studied everything from design to how one creates and builds a successful cafe operation. Mr. Hakim returned to the United States as the Executive Pastry Chef at Saint Honore Boulangerie in Malibu, California. This lead to opening La Provence Patisserie & Café in Beverly Hills. He opened a subsidiary in Brentwood. In 2011, the City Council chose La Provence to be the primary bakery and cafe at Los Angeles International Airport, Terminal 4 serving American Airlines.

By his care and attention to detail, Mr. Hakim has developed La Provence into a recognized brand that receives consistent accolades. It is he who introduced the french macarons in Los Angeles. It soon became one of his most popular desserts and remains one of his top selling items. La Provence is known as one of the most popular casual dining spots in Los Angeles for families. What matters to Mr. Hakim and his staff is to provide customers a quality of service to match their expectations of the cuisine. He is honored that so many of his local customers return daily.

Mr. Hakim often receives media recognition whether from the LA Times or on TV in the “Cupcake Wars” to The Food Network in 2010-2011 to “Modern Marvels” on the Discovery Channel to “Urban Bites” to “Good Day LA” and in numerous appearances on KTLA’s “Morning Show”. The internationally renowned book series Gault-Millau named La Provence “Best French Café in Beverly Hills”. As part of his cutting edge philosophy, Mr. Hakim visits France annually to discover the latest trends in baking, pastries and restaurant management. Given his diverse background, Mr. Hakim is now developing new locations in international markets offering casual dining with french artistry.
